2 actions ecommerce businesses need to take now

    1. Register for a UK Economic Operator Registration and Identification (EORI)

  • You’ll need an EORI number to continue to import or export goods with the EU if there is no deal.
  • EORI number needed before you can apply for authorisations that will make customs processes easier for you. You might need to train your staff or use customs agent for declaration of goods using Customs Declaration Service.

   2. Contact the shipping, haulage or freight organisations to find out if you will need to supply additional information to them. This will allow them to make the safety and security declarations for your goods, or whether you will need to submit these declarations yourself.
